En abril de 2026, la regi\u00f3n produjo <strong>164 TWh de electricidad<\/strong>, de los cuales el <strong>67% provino de energ\u00edas renovables<\/strong>, seg\u00fan el m\u00e1s reciente informe de la Organizaci\u00f3n Latinoamericana y Caribe\u00f1a de Energ\u00eda (OLACDE).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Adem\u00e1s, la generaci\u00f3n el\u00e9ctrica regional aument\u00f3 <strong>4,5%<\/strong> en comparaci\u00f3n con abril de 2025. Estos resultados reflejan la capacidad del sistema para mantener un alto aporte de fuentes limpias, incluso ante variaciones clim\u00e1ticas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2>La hidroelectricidad mantiene el liderazgo<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>La hidroelectricidad continu\u00f3 como la principal fuente de generaci\u00f3n y represent\u00f3 el <strong>44,6%<\/strong> del total regional. Le siguieron el gas natural, con <strong>23,2%<\/strong>, y la energ\u00eda e\u00f3lica, con <strong>12,2%<\/strong>. En conjunto, estas tres tecnolog\u00edas aportaron cerca del <strong>80%<\/strong> de la electricidad producida en Am\u00e9rica Latina y el Caribe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Aunque la generaci\u00f3n hidroel\u00e9ctrica cay\u00f3 <strong>9,4 TWh<\/strong> respecto al a\u00f1o anterior, la reducci\u00f3n fue compensada por un mayor aporte de la energ\u00eda e\u00f3lica, el gas natural y la bioenerg\u00eda.
