La cifra representa un aumento del 4% frente al mismo per\u00edodo del a\u00f1o anterior.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El incremento estuvo impulsado por mayores importaciones y exportaciones cargadas. Ambos segmentos registraron un alza del 5% en comparaci\u00f3n con enero pasado. El movimiento se concentr\u00f3 en el Canal de Navegaci\u00f3n de Houston, eje estrat\u00e9gico del comercio regional.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Las importaciones se mantuvieron estables en diversos sectores clave. Sin embargo, las exportaciones continuaron lideradas por productos petroqu\u00edmicos y resinas. Estos rubros representan una parte significativa de los contenedores salientes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El Puerto de Houston gestiona cerca del 60% de las exportaciones de resina de Estados Unidos. Adem\u00e1s, se prev\u00e9 que esta participaci\u00f3n aumente con nueva capacidad instalada. Recientemente culmin\u00f3 la Fase I de la planta de envasado de resina de 725.000 pies cuadrados de Packwell, ubicada cerca de la Terminal de Contenedores Bayport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La instalaci\u00f3n cuenta con acceso ferroviario directo para descarga de vagones tolva. Asimismo, incorpora equipos de envasado de alta velocidad y modernas \u00e1reas de almacenamiento y transbordo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Por otra parte, los contenedores refrigerados tambi\u00e9n muestran dinamismo. El tr\u00e1fico reefer creci\u00f3 13% en 2025, impulsado por infraestructura consolidada de cadena de fr\u00edo. A ello se suma la certificaci\u00f3n de tratamiento en fr\u00edo del USDA-APHIS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cObservamos una s\u00f3lida demanda en nuestras dos terminales p\u00fablicas\u201d, afirm\u00f3 Charlie Jenkins, director ejecutivo del Puerto de Houston. En enero se registraron 16.438 transacciones de camiones en un solo d\u00eda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En contraste, las importaciones de acero disminuyeron 35%, hasta 213.653 toneladas cortas. La baja refleja menor actividad de perforaci\u00f3n, seg\u00fan datos de Baker Hughes.
