El encuentro se desarrollar\u00e1 en el marco de la cumbre de la Asociaci\u00f3n de Naciones del Sudeste Asi\u00e1tico (ASEAN); en la que participar\u00e1 tambi\u00e9n el presidente estadounidense, Donald Trump.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Despu\u00e9s de varios meses de tregua, las tensiones entre Pek\u00edn y Washington se intensificaron nuevamente este mes; luego de que China anunciara un mayor control sobre las exportaciones de tierras raras y tecnolog\u00edas estrat\u00e9gicas. En respuesta, Trump amenaz\u00f3 con imponer aranceles del 100% a todas las importaciones procedentes del pa\u00eds asi\u00e1tico; y  adem\u00e1s con cancelar su reuni\u00f3n con el presidente Xi Jinping.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sin embargo, el mandatario estadounidense matiz\u00f3 posteriormente que espera alcanzar un \u201cbuen acuerdo\u201d y poner fin a la guerra comercial. El anuncio de las nuevas negociaciones llega tras una videollamada entre He Lifeng y el secretario del Tesoro de Estados Unidos, Scott Bessent; en la que ambas partes mantuvieron \u201cintercambios francos, profundos y constructivos\u201d, seg\u00fan inform\u00f3 la agencia Xinhua. Tambi\u00e9n particip\u00f3 el representante comercial estadounidense Jamieson Greer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El acercamiento se produce en un contexto de alta tensi\u00f3n econ\u00f3mica. Las restricciones chinas sobre tierras raras \u2014metales esenciales para la industria tecnol\u00f3gica y de defensa\u2014 generaron preocupaci\u00f3n en Washington y sus aliados.
