Seg\u00fan datos de OAG para mayo de 2025. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El pa\u00eds ofert\u00f3 casi 17 millones de plazas (16.997.875), un crecimiento del 2,9% interanual que lo posiciona por encima del Reino Unido. Este liderazgo responde a una combinaci\u00f3n de factores estrat\u00e9gicos: la fortaleza del doble hub Madrid-Barcelona, la hegemon\u00eda del grupo IAG y un s\u00f3lido respaldo institucional al turismo y la infraestructura aeroportuaria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El motor de esta expansi\u00f3n es el tr\u00e1fico internacional; que representa m\u00e1s del 70% del total, con 11,9 millones de asientos. El mercado dom\u00e9stico, aunque es el segundo m\u00e1s grande de Europa con 5,1 millones de plazas, experimenta una ligera contracci\u00f3n del 1,3%. Aun as\u00ed, el crecimiento espa\u00f1ol supera al de Reino Unido (1,8%) e Italia (1,9%); en un contexto donde la capacidad internacional en Europa crece al 4,4%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El sistema dual de hubs permite a Espa\u00f1a segmentar eficazmente su oferta. Madrid, dominado por Iberia, opera como el principal conector con Am\u00e9rica; Barcelona, con Vueling, lidera en tr\u00e1fico de ocio. Juntos suman 6,1 millones de asientos, m\u00e1s que cualquier aeropuerto individual de Europa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>IAG despliega una estrategia mixta: Iberia captura tr\u00e1fico de alto valor en largo radio, mientras Vueling e Iberia Express compiten con Ryanair en rutas punto a punto. Iberia lidera entre Europa y Am\u00e9rica Latina, y entre Espa\u00f1a y EE. UU., impulsada por su moderna flota con Airbus A321XLR y A350.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El crecimiento se apoya en inversiones clave: Aena destina 351 millones de euros a modernizar aeropuertos; y Espa\u00f1a avanza en combustibles sostenibles.
