Durante su visita, tambi\u00e9n participar\u00e1 en la apertura del Consulado General de Uruguay en Macao y del Consulado con jurisdicci\u00f3n en Hong Kong y Macao.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La presencia del diplom\u00e1tico coincide con un cambio de estrategia del gobierno uruguayo respecto a su relaci\u00f3n con China. Aunque durante la administraci\u00f3n de Luis Lacalle Pou se busc\u00f3 concretar un Tratado de Libre Comercio (TLC) bilateral, el actual gobierno liderado por Yamand\u00fa Orsi opt\u00f3 por avanzar hacia un acuerdo conjunto con la regi\u00f3n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En ese sentido, el propio canciller Lubetkin y el mandatario han remarcado que cualquier avance comercial con China debe incluir al Mercosur. En una reciente declaraci\u00f3n a la agencia EFE, el ministro se\u00f1al\u00f3 que el bloque debe modernizarse para abrirse a m\u00e1s negociaciones, especialmente con Asia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Orsi tambi\u00e9n ha dado se\u00f1ales claras en esa direcci\u00f3n. En noviembre de 2024, tras reunirse con el embajador chino, descart\u00f3 la posibilidad de un TLC bilateral. \u201cEso est\u00e1 muy lejos; el mundo hoy est\u00e1 en otra cosa. Los avances deben involucrar a la regi\u00f3n\u201d, afirm\u00f3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En marzo de 2025, Orsi se reuni\u00f3 en Montevideo con Han Jun, ministro de Agricultura y Asuntos Rurales de China. Dialogaron sobre cooperaci\u00f3n bilateral, relaciones China\u2013Am\u00e9rica Latina y temas de inter\u00e9s regional.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Durante la gesti\u00f3n anterior, Uruguay culmin\u00f3 un estudio de factibilidad para un TLC con China. Sin embargo, no logr\u00f3 convencer a los socios del Mercosur para avanzar en ese camino.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Uruguay asumir\u00e1 la presidencia del mecanismo Celac\u2013China en 2026.
