David Geisen, director general de Mercado Libre M\u00e9xico, detall\u00f3 que el objetivo inicial de democratizar el comercio electr\u00f3nico sigue siendo fundamental en la estrategia actual.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cHace 25 a\u00f1os, nuestro enfoque era muy diferente, con solo mil productos y un modelo de subasta\u201d, record\u00f3 Geisen. Hoy, Mercado Libre se enfoca en cuatro pilares: innovaci\u00f3n, crecimiento, inclusi\u00f3n y seguridad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Actualmente, Mercado Libre opera en 18 pa\u00edses y cuenta con 56.6 millones de compradores activos en la regi\u00f3n. Solo en el primer semestre de 2024, la plataforma registr\u00f3 54 transacciones por segundo; y un volumen de ventas de 12,600 millones de d\u00f3lares.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En M\u00e9xico, el mercado electr\u00f3nico ha crecido un 24.6% en 2023, lo que ha permitido a Mercado Libre realizar una inversi\u00f3n hist\u00f3rica de 2,450 millones de d\u00f3lares en el pa\u00eds; un aumento del 48% respecto al a\u00f1o anterior. Esta inversi\u00f3n busca fortalecer la infraestructura tecnol\u00f3gica y log\u00edstica de la empresa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La compa\u00f1\u00eda ha expandido su red log\u00edstica con nueve centros de fulfillment y 90 instalaciones; lo que facilita entregas el mismo d\u00eda en 24 ciudades. Adem\u00e1s, Mercado Libre ha lanzado su primer centro de distribuci\u00f3n en Estados Unidos para diversificar su oferta de productos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Con aplicaciones como Mercado Pago, Mercado Env\u00edos y Mercado Ads, Mercado Libre ha creado un ecosistema integral que facilita las transacciones en l\u00ednea.
