La idea es que el puerto Balsas sea un complemento del Puerto L\u00e1zaro C\u00e1rdenas y se construir\u00e1 en 1.378 hect\u00e1reas, destinadas a una aduana interior, un terminal intermodal de carga; un registro fiscalizado estrat\u00e9gico; zonas de servicios; parque industrial para empresas locales; parque industrial integrado al RFE, adem\u00e1s de que se edificar\u00e1 una ciudad de servicios con calidad para albergar a 125.000 personas.
