La negociaci\u00f3n, que tom\u00f3 diez meses, llev\u00f3 a Ecuador a unirse a Chile, Per\u00fa y Costa Rica; las otras tres naciones que ya ten\u00edan un tratado de libre comercio con el gigante asi\u00e1tico.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Con la firma de este acuerdo, Ecuador espera catapultar su intercambio comercial con China; la primera econom\u00eda del mundo en n\u00famero de consumidores. Despu\u00e9s de que el comercio bilateral entre ambos pa\u00edses haya aumentado en los \u00faltimos a\u00f1os hasta alcanzar en 2022 los 12.295 millones de d\u00f3lares. En este sentido, las exportaciones ecuatorianas a China llegaron en 2022 a 5.843 millones de d\u00f3lares; mientras que las ventas chinas a Ecuador supusieron 6.452 millones de d\u00f3lares.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El ministro de Producci\u00f3n, Comercio Exterior, Inversiones y Pesca de Ecuador, Julio Jos\u00e9 Prado, y el ministro de Comercio de China, Wang Wentao, suscribieron el documento en una ceremonia celebrada simult\u00e1neamente en Quito y en Pek\u00edn a trav\u00e9s de una videoconferencia. En la firma del acuerdo, el ministro ecuatoriano destac\u00f3 el \u00abtiempo r\u00e9cord\u00bb de la negociaci\u00f3n. Tambi\u00e9n se\u00f1al\u00f3 que el acuerdo comercial solo se limita al comercio de bienes y no contempla inversiones o servicios.
