La incorporaci\u00f3n de estas cinco nuevas rutas representa un impacto econ\u00f3mico de $118,959,640.80; y a\u00f1ade 213,304 asientos adicionales al inventario disponible para viajar a la isla durante el a\u00f1o 2023. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El director ejecutivo de la Compa\u00f1\u00eda de Turismo de Puerto Rico, Carlos Mercado Santiago; se\u00f1al\u00f3 que la decisi\u00f3n de Spirit de agregar nuevas conexiones desde cinco centros importantes en Estados Unidos y aumentar la frecuencia de otros cuatro vuelos, se alinea con la estrategia que la CTPR est\u00e1 implementando para fortalecer la actividad tur\u00edstica como uno de los sectores m\u00e1s s\u00f3lidos de la econom\u00eda de Puerto Rico. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Adem\u00e1s, la expansi\u00f3n anunciada por Spirit representa un crecimiento de m\u00e1s del 200% para la aerol\u00ednea en los \u00faltimos a\u00f1os. Spirit y sus socios emplean a cerca de mil puertorrique\u00f1os en los tres aeropuertos en la isla.
