Este ajuste se debe a los niveles bajos de los lagos que alimentan el Canal; debido a la temporada seca en la regi\u00f3n. Esto reduce la capacidad del Canal de mantener el calado habitual de 14.33 metros (47 pies) en agua dulce tropical.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El Canal de Panam\u00e1 asegur\u00f3 que este ajuste transitorio no afectar\u00e1 el tr\u00e1fico de buques que utilizan la v\u00eda interoce\u00e1nica; y que seguir\u00e1 garantizando la seguridad y eficiencia de las operaciones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El administrador del Canal, Dr. Ricaurte Va\u0301squez Morales, explico\u0301 que la ausencia de lluvias ha impactado la disponibilidad del recurso hi\u0301drico; y que el Canal se ve obligado a hacer estos ajustes. El pasado 19 de marzo, con el fin de que las navieras pudieran tomar las previsiones del caso, el Canal comunico\u0301 a sus clientes la medida de reducciones futuras del calado dependiendo de la disponibilidad del recurso.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La Autoridad del Canal de Panam\u00e1 dijo que continuar\u00e1 monitoreando de cerca los niveles del agua en los lagos que alimentan la v\u00eda interoce\u00e1nica.
