El comunicado  revel\u00f3 que presentaron una solicitud a la Oficina de Control de Activos Extranjeros (OFAC) a mediados de 2022 . Trinidad solicit\u00f3 una exenci\u00f3n de sanciones que les permitiera continuar el desarrollo del yacimiento de gas Drag\u00f3n; ubicado en la frontera, a 17 km de la plataforma activa Hibiscus. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rowley tambi\u00e9n se\u00f1al\u00f3 que esa petici\u00f3n fue aprobada \u00abcon condiciones espec\u00edficas que deben ultimarse\u00bb. En 2018, Venezuela y Trinidad firmaron un acuerdo que no pudo implementarse debido al embargo realizado por Estados Unidos.
