Buscaban agregar esa prestaci\u00f3n a los aumentos del 24% y de 5.000 d\u00f3lares en bonos que recibieron en el primer contrato de cinco a\u00f1os.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El director ejecutivo de la empresa Union Pacific, Lance Fritz, dijo que cree que la raz\u00f3n principal por la que el gremio BMWED rechaz\u00f3 su contrato inicial fue porque aun se encontraban negociando mientras los trabajadores votaban. Por lo tanto, no estaba claro exactamente qu\u00e9 recibir\u00edan esos trabajadores para sus gastos de viaje cuando salieran a reparar v\u00edas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Seis de los 12 sindicatos ferroviarios, que representan a 115.000 trabajadores en todo el pa\u00eds, han aprobado hasta el momento acuerdos tentativos con las empresas, pero todos deben ratificar sus contratos para evitar una huelga.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Los sindicatos acordaron suspender cualquier huelga hasta al menos mediados de noviembre mientras el BMWED negocia un acuerdo nuevo y los otros gremios laborales votan sobre sus propuestas de contrato, por lo que no existe una amenaza inmediata para los trenes de los que dependen muchas empresas para entregar sus materias primas y productos terminados.
